1. Tell me more about the materials you use

At Teal, we track down the best materials from around the world for your wearing pleasure. We use quality 14K gold filled and sterling silver wire from the U.S., beautiful semi-precious gems, and the occasional Swarovski crystal.

Gold filled wire is used extensively in the U.S. and Europe, but is relatively new to Asia. The wire is made by permanently bonding a layer of 14K gold to a base metal core. It has 100 times the amount of gold as gold plate and is strong, durable, and resistant to tarnish so the only thing that comes in contact with your skin is 14K gold. That's good news for those with sensitive skin. Besides yellow gold filled wire, we also incorporate hard to find rose gold filled wire into our designs. The characteristic rose tinge is achieved by adding copper to the 14K gold alloy.

Sterling silver, also known as 925 silver, contains 92.5% pure silver. Sterling silver tarnishes over time.

2. How do I take care of my jewelry?

To clean both gold filled and sterling silver wire, wipe with a soft clean cloth and rub with silver polishing cloth to restore shine. Store jewelry in airtight Ziploc bags to slow down the tarnishing process.

3. Do you have a store?

Teal is carried at selected boutiques.
